Job Posting Title: Accountant, Road US 

SUMMARY

The Accountant role with DSV Road works to provide financial information to managers and leadership by researching and analyzing accounting data and financials, preparing reports, advising on data findings and results and working closely with the Accounting team and leadership to identify cost savings opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Cash Management – daily transitions and reporting.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Accomplishes the result by performing the duty.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor Degree: Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • 2 years’ of Accounting experience- including cash management
  • ADP/EV5 experience

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Computer Skills

  • Strong proficiency required in MS Office Applications especially in MS Excel

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing and verbal)

Mathematical Skills

  • Strong mathematical skills

Other Skills

  • Possess knowledge of US GAAP Rules
  • Excellent Multi tasker; able to work in a fast pace environment with competing deadlines.
  • Excels in a team environment
  • Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners
  • Excellent interpersonal communication

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.  The employee uses computer and telephone equipment.  The employee also regularly lifts and/or moves objects up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
