This allows you to focus on leading and developing the branch along with the National Management team with your control to drive further growth, synergies and efficiencies.

You will be responsible for the financial performance, profitability, service delivery, client retention, new business growth, and operational excellence of the branch while maintaining a client-centric focus.


The Branch Manager position can be broken down into the following areas of responsibility: Finance, People Management, Operations Excellence, and Sales Performance.


  • Formulates, monitors, and achieves the branch’s quarterly objectives
  • Executes on monthly targets and controls as defined by country and regional leadership
  • Manages costs within the branch and look for efficiencies and improvements
  • Delivers on the bottom line budget commitment
  • Reports on revenue targets for the branch
  • Sets the cost budget in line with the strategy and manage costs or adjust costs according to business requirements
  • Manages branch assets in line with targets, forecasts, and strategy requirements
  • Identifies opportunities and risks within the business that may impact the business environment and ability to deliver to shareholder commitments
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external controls and KPI’s set at the global and regional levels

People Management

  • Manages the delivery of the organization’s objectives through communication, measurement and motivation of people
  • Manages people’s performance and growth to create a sustainable business environment Managed through direct reports to meet company targets and strategies
  • Builds teams to ensure progress and continuity of business
  • Motivates and develops people through performance management systems
  • Develops the people through identifying and providing relevant training
  • Engages with direct reports to ensure that career path is clear for the employees, and that there is a succession plan in place for the branch

Operational Excellence

  • Manages and delivers on client’s commitments based on local, national, and global strategy
  • Uses the gateways (where relevant) to maximize DSV’s network efficiency
  • Manages and develops client relationships from all areas of the branch business
  • Partners with existing clients to retain and grow business
  • Monitors implementation of new accounts to ensure all KPIs are met
  • Seeks cost efficiencies and process improvements within different functions of the branch and work with the support and alignment of the GOP team to implement as appropriate

Sales Performance

  • Grows top line of the branch through active involvement in the sales process
  • Manages and develops client relationships from all areas of the branch business
  • Interact with other divisional sales members and branch managers to actively cross sell DSV Road Services
  • Achieve Sales activity KPI’s
  • Maintain healthy and active funnel
  • Identify and target new business for the region
  • Develop personal sales plan at a region and customer level


Supervises work assignments, training, and performance management of direct personnel and provide mentoring to other direct report, supervisory managers. 


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 7 years industry experience
  • 5 years management experience
  • 2 years’ experience with managing and compiling budgets
  • 2 years client relationship management
  • Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of the freight forwarding business and be able to identify areas of operational, financial, and people improvement
  • Where brokerage is an integral part of the business, possess knowledge in brokerage regulations
