The Lead OCR is responsible for monitoring OCR activity and ensuring accurate product data.

As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality.   Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.


  • Monitor OCR activity to ensure accuracy of product being scanned.
  • Conduct quality checks of OCR
  • Drive compliance with safety, quality and productivity goals in support of company objectives.
  • Must be a role model for associates on floor by acting safely and delivering quality product to our customer in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for training/coaching associates on each aspect of the OCR conveyor.
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions and to interpret these to subordinate personnel.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
  • Must have some flexibility in work schedule to accomplish daily workload.
  • Able to provide daily hands-on support for the department, if needed. (Ability to lift tires up to 50lbs, if needed)
  • Able to provide recommendations on process improvement and assists in implementation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Must be able to operate or train to operate MHE.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

●        Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

●        1 year warehouse experience, with supervisory experience in a high volume, fast paced distribution operation.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

●        Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program


Computer Skills

●        Computer experience with programs such as Excel, Office & Notepad.

●        WMS functions

Language Skills

●        English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

●        Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing and distributing client products.


●        Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job task in a timely manner.

●        Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance

●        Must be able to adapt effectively to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-pace work environment.

●        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

●        Ability to work independently and in a team leadership role.

●        Ability to balance and effectively utilize team resources.

●        Ability to multi-task, with superior attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thrive in a real-time coaching environment.

●        Must be dedicated to being at work on time, every day.


●        1-3 years’ experience working in high volume distribution environment.

●        Associate’s degree.

●        1-3 years forklift experience.

●        Current or prior MHE certification


While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.  The employee uses computer and telephone equipment.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.  Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs while following proper lifting procedures. Must be able to stand on feet for up to 10 hours per day.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
