SUMMARY

Logistics Analyst will be responsible for supporting inbound and outbound transportation operations throughout the accounts Value Chain. Responsibilities include identifying packaging and loading issues, data gathering, some metric generation, and cost savings project management for the account in their sphere of operation.  The Logistics Analyst works with operations teams in the field to identify cost savings ideas, process improvements, and to manage data in support of the projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 • Reports on initiative progress and manage data collection

 • Identifies and quantifies potential supply chain improvements or internal efficiency opportunities

 • Identifies and quantifies cost savings opportunities and lead local implementation

 • Manages multiple projects simultaneously

 • Manages sometimes complex organizational issues involving client's various functional areas and

   Multiple plant locations

 • Assists in identifying mode optimization opportunities

 • Develops or maintains tools used to quantify metrics

 • Generates weekly, monthly and quarterly performance metrics

 o Identify and provide analysis of trends in metrics

 o Initiate action plans to address negative trends and activities positive activities

 o Develop a strong knowledge of the client's supply chain and drivers of costs in the network

 • Presents and defend findings & analysis to the logistics and operations teams

 • Supports building carrier relationships at the local level

 o Assists in facilitating quarterly carrier reviews

OTHER DUTIES

 • Supports consolidation operations, as needed

 • Assists in training and improving team members knowledge of the supply chain

Supports metric generation and analysis

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • College Degree and 2 years of Logistics related

experience

  • Experience with truck, intermodal modes and international freight management

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Power point

            Solid analytical experience in Excel required

            Language Skills

English (reading, writing, verbal)

            Mathematical Skills

Position requires strong mathematical skills for project development

            Other Skills

 • Demonstrated leadership and management capability—a mentor

 • Superior analytical and problem solving skills

 • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

 • Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills to prioritize, coordinate

   projects and manage conflicting needs

 • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal

   and external clients

 • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 • Strong knowledge of International shipping regulations
