NOTE:     Grade 12 / Matric is a fixed minimum requirement for all roles within DSV. EE candidates will be considered first.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE e.g.  brief introduction to the role

This position will be responsible for growing our Air & Sea market share on the German Trade Lane (both inbound and outbound). To build sound relationships with the DSV Germany organization, and to build a product which will help us grow our volumes and GP.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES e.g. daily / weekly / monthly tasks

  • Identify and secure major target accounts in collaboration with the DSV sales Group
  • Join customer activity with local sales staff
  • Support CRM in the transition of new accounts into operations, customer service and overseas network
  • Plan and monitor annual volume budget for the year
  • Identify / agree trade lane targets with overseas counterpart
  • Establish customer target list at National and Branch Level and monitor through Salesforce.
  • Trade Lane Manager to provide support to Operations and Account management for route specific issue’s that cannot be resolved locally as a key figure in the escalation process
  • Product development + implementation in conjunction with Air & Sea Leadership
  • Collect / report market information on a monthly basis to Senior Management.
  • Quarterly KPI review of trade lane performance / target results delivered monthly to Senior management.
  • Create local awareness of trade lane, branding products, establish sales kits, presentations etc.
  • Support in the procurement of rates and act as guide consultant for tenders related to their associated trade lane.


  • Volume Growth on the trade lane in line with agreed budget – Measured Monthly
  • Market intelligence report  - measured Monthly
  • External customer meetings every week – Logged in Salesforce
