Location:     Burton, Michigan

DSV in partnership with General Motors is moving to a new state of the art distribution facility in Burton Michigan, and we are looking for an SME to oversee the operations. The role will report to the Account Manager as primary point of contact for GMCCA and the International customers. Responsible for all Haz-Mat shipments the execution and freight forwarding oversight of International shipments from GM to the customer; resolving any issues that may arise in a timely manner, acting in accordance with government law and within international export compliance regulations.


Job Requirements

•    Inspection of hazmat freight that will be moving by various modes (air/ocean/ground) for International shipments. 
•    The creation of Dangerous Goods shipper documents. 
•    Resolution of DG shipment issues. 
•    Strong organization skills and attention to details are essential in this position. Capability of handling copious amounts of information. 
•    Ability to work independently, diligently, and think strategically to solve issues. Ability to adapt to change. 
•    This individual would have to go through and pass GM’s DG Compliance Training online to become certified. 
•    Hazmat/Automotive Logistics and/or previous Traffic Office experience for a largescale Shipper 

Qualifications

•    Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication and active listening skills
•    Communicates effectively and in a professional manner when dealing with customer
•    Uses critical and creative thinking to resolve problems
•    Working hours – Mon – Fri, 1st shift, hours flexible
•    Knowledge and experience with order fulfillment
•    Supply chain
•    Dangerous goods 
•    Air and ocean export
•    Experience with trucking companies, steamship lines, and freight forwarders
•    Microsoft Office skills required
